car does run noticably better on high octane.just wondering if i run it all the time,are there any adverse effects.

only hip pocket ones.

Vehicle is optimized for 87 RON/MON. Running it on anything above that will not improve performance (very common ricer fallacy). There is the possibility that it will run smoother as you noted due to additives in the better quality fuels.

Marginal to none. More effect can be had by adjusting driving style and tire pressures. Bang-for-buck the net effect is it will cost you money to run high octane fuel over and above any savings you may make in fuel consumption.

The higher octane gas burns a little hotter, it helps remove build up etc! but because it burns hotter it can cause damage to the engine, especially when the engine is not designed to run on the higher octane. Ever seen whats happens when you run 105+ Drag fuel in a normal motor! smile
