We have a new ticket system in our town. We don't have meters but two hour parking. The little meter maid golf car has a GPS and camera system to read your tag. They drive around and when the light goes off they know the car has been there for over two hours.

My wife is parked, leaves for about two hours and parks back near the same spot. She gets a ticket but has a receipt from a store and a school teacher as witness. She fought it and won but what a hassle.

Wow, GPS and Cameras!! What ever happened to the colored chalk mark on the tire? Every 2 hours, change the color. If you walk by and see a car with the color from 2 hours ago, you give them a ticket!

Heck they spent our tax dollars on those little gadgets. I wonder what the meter maid would do if I got out and marked her tires up with chalk. It's pretty rude really, especially if I were in my Jag.

Free parking creates commerce. We could save a few maids wages too.

I just read today how Indianapolis made just under 2 million bucks in parking tickets last year.
