My Montero in Maine is famous. It made it into the newspapers, after a fashion. The Working Waterfront is a local paper, along the lines of a trade paper. It's distributed along the central and DownEast coast of Maine.

This is a new series they are running about island cars. My Montero is the first of the series. Hopefully there will be many more.

You must understand, island cars are a world unto themselves. Most would never pass an inspection on the mainland, and nobody really cares. Most are not currently registered. This, of course, does not apply to islands with a regular car ferry service. All we're asked to do is pay the road tax portion of the registration fee, to help maintain the island roads.

The fuel tank mentioned in the article came from California. I bought it from Russell, as a rust-free tank, and shipped it to Maine.

And so, another Montero has it's brief moment in history.
