That's a gnarly trip to the hardware store for sure! Does it mess with visibility at all?
If I had a hammer.....

No visibility problems. You don't realy notice it at all. The scoop came from work. It's just a roof vent. I couldn't resist when i saw it. And i just drilled holes in a pvc cap and put on the snorkle, to keep debree out.

Sweet!!! Nice work. How do you support the pipe to the pillar? Can we see a pic of the pipe going through the inside wall? What do you use to cut the holes through the fender? Sorry for the questions. I'm impressed with your work. Thanks

Unfortionatly, the only thing i had were self tapping screws. The body isn't that great anyway. I have to come up with a new camera. I started using a hole saw, but it went dull, so i made a fairly round whole with a sawzal. the inside fender i just cut a big enough portion out to fit the pipe through. I belive the 90 degree goes down through the top of the fender into a run 45. Then i put a short piece of pipe into a rubber union. you can see that in the picture. I used two conduit clamps with the self tappers to secure the outside part.

Let's see...
Install snorkel to prevent water from entering the induction system and hydro locking the engine.
Install massive hood scoop directly over the ignition system to allow gallons of water to enter and short it out.
Sorry, but call me confused. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Just a guess here.....But I would guess that the hood scoop is not in any way related to the air induct process....
Soooooooo It would be the same as not having one ---- So no harm done in any case.
Without the scoop water will still cover the engine as well <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

let me totally ensure you that the snorkle is absalutly, if spelled right, air tight. I can put my hand on the end of the snorkle and choke the engine out. So, even though the scoop will let sooooooooo much more water in, let alone the big gappin, hopefully allso spelled right, hole in the bottom of the drivetrain I hope it does the job. wich was to channel air into the engine, witch it does very well, hence it's purpose. So i want people to understand it is air tight, i think that's the purpose. Again probably spelled wrong. I think i spelled most of the stuff right. Good luck.
