Need a Spot
I am wondering since I own 4 new 235 75R 15 tires ... will they fit on my stock 2000 Sportage with the stock cast wheels? The whole thing is stock. It is a 4 door 2WD 5 spd manual tranny (I don't think that matters...) The rear shocks are maybe 1.25 inches from the stock 205 tires and it looks close, but with the 7" stock rims I think they will fit. They are on big chevy van rims now which are maybe 8" or 9" rims which is what I measured the width on. I read somewhere that they are the largest that may fit. I hope someone here knows so I don't have to waste my time trying it. I need new rubber on the ground and I own these and need to use them. I think it would look better with them and may help my mpg some as well.

Thanks for any guidance !

I have gotten lots of help from this website. Thanks.

Wow ! Thanks for the quick response. I will be glad to have new treads on the ground. I hope you are doing well this afternoon. I will get out the floor jack and get started then. I can tell they may be close on the inside especially in the rear near the shocks. I bet it will handle way different with the bigger tires and lots more new deep tread. I may go for a body lift later. I still like it like it is just fine and don't get this little 2WD off the road much, but I do like the ground clearance it has (just from the factory.)

I appreciate your help !

I ran 235/75/15 on my stock Sportage before I found out there were lift kits and stuff out there. Should work fine.

Thanks, guys ! You guys are too cool !

and MIKE, I am totally into guns and computers too. I had to quit buyin guns and reloading stuff so I could afford the parts for my new computer I just put together. I have enough of 'em anyway and I need to just reload more ammo so I can go shoot 'em. The ammo's gettin' scarce. I just bought 2000 primers yesterday so I can load up the 10mm and the 9X23 winchester I like to shoot.

I am going to switch the tires tomorrow. I may just do the lift B4 long too. Thanks for verifying that I'm not wasting my time on the 235s.

Keep the greasy side down, guys !
