I was speaking directly to Frank about "conservatives", BUT This is Exactly the reason that I can not support the "Liberal" crowd either. NONE of it is ANY business of the government. Don't think I'm trying to support republicans, OR Democrats as I feel they are the exact same body with a different face.
It's real simple politicians. Read the constitution. It'll guide you to make the correct decision for the country. I was just curious. IMHO, and perhaps I'm biased, social conservatives tend to be much less engaged in (pushing) social agendas than social liberals. I agree - an adherence to SCOTUS is by far the ONLY thing these people should be worrying about.
Brian K. Gallus I have nothing important to say.

This is a diversion. It will not be abandoned, just slowed. There is no more important time for us to get even more involved, speak louder and be vigelant.

>>>*I wonder if anyone here believes for one second that some well publicized protests on the government takeover of health care has turned the tide?
This administration now has "Heard the people" and will bend to their will?
Believe that, and we all will deserve what is coming.
Government placates the people by forming "co-operatives", then "funding" them.
*Hmmm...isn't that about what they did to AIG and General Motors?
Government funding of co-operatives means that government...decides...what is done with the funding, after all, it IS the people's money.
(Well, it isn't actually, government just prints it now but that's another issue.)
Since it IS the people's money, government will keep control, just like they "didn't" with GM. (That one was "We don't run GM, as long as they do what we say.") One duly elected corporate executive would not "mind" so he was replaced.
Government did that.
Government will NOT run the co-operatives either (As long as they do what they are told.)
As I look at the current bobs and weaves by government, all I see is them changing the way they say what it was that they were saying.
Obama wants total government control of corporate, wage scales, health care, on and on and on. If government forms, funds and controls co-operatives, then total control of health care will have arrived.
At first, all will be fairly normal. Then the issue of "costs" will arrive. Right behind that will be a formation of someone to "control" costs.
(*Hmmm...Let's see. YOU are now 70 years old and drawing Social Security and you need a kidney transplant. *Hmmm...taptaptap..carry the one...*Hmmm...Here, take these pills instead. ... NEXT CASE!)
It will just take a bit longer to run the insurance companies out (The keyword here will be "absorb into the system")...is all.
Chip away at the base of a tree long enough, she will come down, no matter how small each chip is.
BKG sees it, this old man sees it, quite a few of you see it. This President has not abandoned his plans, all that has happened as the result of a few protests is hesitation and some rewording of public statements.
I saw one man at a public meeting say it all. "He said, "Why can't you people just LEAVE us alone?"
Would we all be better off with a government run health care system? He**, I don't know, what I DO know is I like things just fine the way they are and I DO know that EVERYBODY has access right now, even if they can't pay.
It seems to be the law. It's not perfect, but then nothing ever is. There are some leftover segments of society, but then there always is, and there always will be.
What IS wrong is when your HOUSE can be taken because you get sick. Now I would be happy if government just fixed that and then went back to their meetings.

The ones that will take their kids to see shoot-em-up 10000 blockbuster movie, but the second any sex or nudity is shown, they go ballistic, and "shield" their children from it. My AF combat veteran, Strategic Air Command, flight instructor, McDonnel Douglas big wig, conservative, Christian father made that same point so there is hope for unity. Even the stiff ultra conservatives are talking revolution now....I love it!

As much as I wish those kind of depictions didn't exist in today's society, I'll be one of the last to sanction action against it. The way I figure, once we think it's ok to regulate what we think is moral and/or right, who's to say they won't come after us and our expressions with the same justification in mind. My answer, I just don't take my kids to movies with objectionable content. No broakcast TV, no cable, only one radio station playing in the house and car (unless I accidently leave talk radio on). At least I'll know that I'm the one that screwed up if they turn psycho. Not something they saw on TV or at a movie.

Thats the way it should be Clay. I control what my child watches too. The government has no business controlling what I watch as I am not a child.
If they are going to turn psycho at least it will be on your watch. ...I like that.

Been out of touch with all the latest news for a couple of days.
I did see a ticker-tap running on Fox News this morning where it appears the Dems are threatening reprisals against companies that do not support their version of health care reform.
I did see where the "report false information" hot line has been shut down...

There is one heck of a LOT of talent in this little group here on 4X4wire. *I will bet that if we put our heads together we can manage to break out of anyplace they decide to put us when government comes to gather us all up...*LOL**... Of course if government is smart, all they would need to do is let everyone bring their 4 X 4's and some beer, heck, we will all be happy out in the woods somewhere.... Just a sec, someone is at the doo........ *EB
