I used it my old Dodge Intrepid.
Worked great... for several months.
Then it got worse than before, and I was unable to do ANYTHING but buy new light assemblies.

Te basic overview of my post was that I used 600, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper, followed by rubbing compound and polishing compound. They became crystal clear.

For maintenance, put a coat of basic Turtle Wax on them monthly. Sounds odd, but my headlights were still bright after another 2 years in the Florida sun when I sold the van.

your glass headlights are fogging Ray? The only thing I could see you have is a bunch of small road chips. I dont think you can do anything about that. Mine still look new and I'm on the high way every day. But that could change as my truck gets older.

As for the lexan headlights, just wet sand it really good and polish it really good. The guys on the 3000gt/Stealth forum do it very often and it works

I used Alum polish on my Passat TDI lights and Elbow grease and they cleaned up nice. The blue stuff can't remember name...

There are no wrong answers. All submissions based on identifying what they used that works are eligible.

Simple method for regaining crystal-clear headlight lenses:

1. Wet sand with 600 grit paper.
2. Rinse.
3. Wet sand with 1000 grit paper.
4. Rinse.
5. Wet sand with 1500 grit paper.
6. Rinse.
7. Wet sand with 2000 grit paper.
8. Rinse.
9. Hit them with Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound.
10. Rinse
11. Hit them with Turtle Wax Polishing Compound.
12. Rinse.
13. Dry.
14. Wax the lights with plain Turtle Wax.

My experience? Great! Went from almost brown headlight lenses to crystal clear in under an hour. I used to have pics up, and I would have to find them again to show the evidence. I would definitely do this again, as all the materials ran under $20, and can be used as many times as needed during the life of the vehicle. Compared to $600 for new headlight assemblies, this option was a no-brainer. Since I waxed them monthly afterward, they never yellowed again... Even in the Florida sun!
