I understand that the 32/36 Weber is a great conversion. It worked wonders when I put one on my old VW bus in place of the two single barrel Solex (I think they were Solex).

The only problem is that here in California the Weber will not pass the smog check simply because it is not original equipment. It may burn cleaner and run better, but it's not original.

Alabama may well be more lax in it's inspections, so the Weber might be alright there. If it is, I'd go for it in a heartbeat.
