Who's Going? So for the maybe or can't go's... how can we change your mind & get you to get out of what you've got conflicting this trip yet?

Sorry about that, But for some strange reason that does make me feel better, or is that the rum.

Unless you have a city sewer system that needs to be cleaned and inspected, (and the money to pay for the job) nothing can be done from your end.

No work, no play. I have some work pending, keeping fingers crossed. On the other hand, if a rush job comes up, the sh*t must flow.

GPS Way Points: OK, got most of the GPS way points ready to post or include into a PM & flier for all attendees. I'll be running these waypoints in my Nat Geo Topo California software (hi res topo maps).

Ray, I'll see whether I can export somehow my tracks and waypoints from my Map Source GPS program.

I'll know my schedule after the Labor Day, I hope.

Oleg,

If you run into problem I may be able help you figure that out (since IIRC, I also use Map Source) once I get back home and can get access to my system.

I also downloaded the waypoints from somewhere on the web. They were WAY off.I suspect a older GPS system before WAAS. Either mine or Grasscat's Garmin 60csx has the exact trail breadcrumbs still in it. Most of the time My error was down to 7 feet

There are quite a few places that the Mojave Road is part of another road, or uses parts of other roads. Grasscat and I had a backtrack a few times because of missleading turns. I think one time we were down a few miles before we realized the error.

I'm not sure I want to give away the location of our great camp site

Don't worry. You won't have to. The Grass Cat will.

As long as I know where the starting point is, I am good.

I love desert adventures....

AFAIK (unless the GC has other ideas since he has some bread crumb data) if you have the Wells Guide to S. Cal you'll know the route. We'll be taking it from west to east unlike the guide which goes from east to west.

Okay, give me a start point...

I am expecting to head out on Friday...

Course is of minimal concern. Meeting point is of major concern.

I like desert trips with the afternoon sun at my back....
