Okay, give me a start point...

I am expecting to head out on Friday...

Course is of minimal concern. Meeting point is of major concern.

I like desert trips with the afternoon sun at my back....

Starting point will be at...
Long / Lat
Deg | Min | Sec / Deg | Min | Sec
35 | 04 | 15.4 / 116 | 24 | 41.6
Which should be the Afton Canyon Road Exit on I-15.
Here's a map of the 1st third of the trip which is a slightly modified image of the map in the Charles A. Wells Guide to S. Cal.

I don't recall if you have already but if you haven't pm me your number so I can contact you once we get closer to the trip dates. I'll also be putting together a flier for the attendee's w/ gps coordinates, general maps, and everyone's contact details.

I really want a proper Mojave Road breakfast again. There is just something special about having a croissant and spam in the middle of nowhere

My Dad still talks about it !

I guess I was sleeping or unconscious. When did the route change from east to west to west to east?

Are you planning to spend the night at the other end? It's about a 9-10 hour drive back to the bay area.

Well, when you think about it Michael, it's a 9-10 hour drive one way or another. Either at the start of the trip or at the end... so pick your poison as they say.

Plus 4crawler's club will also be running this trail at the same time (east to west) so I figure I'd rather cross them once versus always trying to stay ahead of them in order to stay out of their dust, get the best camping spot, etc.

EDIT... DISREGARD THIS POST. WE ARE DRIVING EAST TO WEST. See first post on this thread for the correct route. Let me know if you need waypoints.

OK, here are all 3 maps from west to east. If you have the Wells Guide, you may notice (or not) that the waypoint numbers are reversed in these pictures (thank you photoshop)

Here's a map of the 1st leg (west) of the trip
[Linked Image]

Here's the 2nd leg (central)
[Linked Image]

And here's the 3rd 7 final leg (east)
[Linked Image]

In case you want to import them into your gps device, here are the GPS way points (Lat & Long) as taken from the Wells guide. If you seen an error, definitely let me know since I finished putting this together late the other night.

(W1=West leg waypoint 1)

That's because I didn't know.

I remember that picture, you where up there looking for the trail/road. As you can see the only trail around is the one we made.

Look at those Gen I's with Gen II wheels, good stuff.
