I would suggest CB Channel 14 as that is not high use.

Also, for those with 2 meter, 145.57 is a Simplex freq conforming to area band plan for event communications. We have found it suitable for a standard club Simplex frequency.

I will check on a couple of repeaters in the area. It would be a good time to demonstrate the advantage of 2 meter...

FRS - have them.. What channel?? Don't really use them so don't know of potential other users and interference.

I will be leading an "Up the River - on dirt" run for Tierra del Sol from Yuma to Blythe the previous weekend (Oct 2-3). If anyone has extra time and wants to come down early....

It's looking grim for me... This was the first week...and it's not over yet of my wife being back to school full-time. The classes have already been changed, the early one is now earlier and the late one is later... and the expected 1/2 day Friday is now a full day... add to that they have to go to the hospital the night before to get patient information and show up in the morning with a care plan for that patient.... so she's running at 110%.. I thought I we were going to have hallway sex (pause for laughter) at noon on Friday and be off to head East or looking to meet up with whomever was passing by.

It's not looking good for me, but I'm going to have my stuff ready to go.

I know you guys have made this drive before (many more times than I), and I don't know what 152 is like east of 101, but on my recent trip to San Diego we headed east on 46 from Paso Robles. We made great time when we weren't behind big rigs or campers, and it's only a 50 mile stretch.

Just thought I'd put that out there...

Thanks for the suggestion Jon. 152 will likely have some traffic but it's about 1/2 the distance based on a quick view of the map. It's also the recommended 'quickest' route on most mapping site's as well as MS Streets and trips. I'm inclined to take the quickest route possible... but I'm open to any idea's so please share especially if there's a good reason to take 46 over 152. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Yeah Ray, I read that over there also and like you I have not seen any information on it yet.

I will be staying at The AVI Casino Thursday and Friday night. There is plenty of parking there. On my last Mojave trip I slept in my truck, on the back lot, and met Les in the morning for breakfast.

Regardless where everyone stays we should meet at the AVI casino at 8:30 or 9:00 am Saturday.

AVI casino Rates are $70 per night for a double queen room.

We could sleep 2 in the beds and at least that many on the floor. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> No snoring!!

I just called the Kelso Depot Visitor Center and they said no toilets are required. Who ever posted that information must be smoking something weird.
