Does everyone have either CB or FRS? 2M is nice but lets face it, not enough will have that.

Got them all.
What channels???
I would suggest CB Channel 14 as that is not high use.
Also, for those with 2 meter, 145.57 is a Simplex freq conforming to area band plan for event communications. We have found it suitable for a standard club Simplex frequency.
I will check on a couple of repeaters in the area. It would be a good time to demonstrate the advantage of 2 meter...
FRS - have them.. What channel?? Don't really use them so don't know of potential other users and interference.
I have the sleeping bag and cot (who needs a tent) ready.
I will be leading an "Up the River - on dirt" run for Tierra del Sol from Yuma to Blythe the previous weekend (Oct 2-3). If anyone has extra time and wants to come down early....

It's looking grim for me... This was the first week...and it's not over yet of my wife being back to school full-time. The classes have already been changed, the early one is now earlier and the late one is later... and the expected 1/2 day Friday is now a full day... add to that they have to go to the hospital the night before to get patient information and show up in the morning with a care plan for that patient.... so she's running at 110%.. I thought I we were going to have hallway sex (pause for laughter) at noon on Friday and be off to head East or looking to meet up with whomever was passing by.
It's not looking good for me, but I'm going to have my stuff ready to go.

... taking 101S to 152 east to I5 south? I know you guys have made this drive before (many more times than I), and I don't know what 152 is like east of 101, but on my recent trip to San Diego we headed east on 46 from Paso Robles. We made great time when we weren't behind big rigs or campers, and it's only a 50 mile stretch. Just thought I'd put that out there...

Thanks for the suggestion Jon. 152 will likely have some traffic but it's about 1/2 the distance based on a quick view of the map. It's also the recommended 'quickest' route on most mapping site's as well as MS Streets and trips. I'm inclined to take the quickest route possible... but I'm open to any idea's so please share especially if there's a good reason to take 46 over 152.
Where is everyone staying the 1st night in Laughlin? I just realized I we need to figure that out and make reservations as necessary.

There is nothing noting that on the use permit that I'm filling out... http://www.nps.gov/moja/parkmgmt/upload/10-930%20spu%20app-moja-3.pdfWhat I did find on the park website is... http://www.nps.gov/moja/planyourvisit/upload/park%20rules.pdf36 CFR º2.14 û SANITATION and REFUSE (a)(2) The use of government refuse receptacles or facilities for dumping household, commercial or industrial refuse, brought as such from private or municipal property may be allowed under the following conditions: ò Is prohibited throughout the park. (b) Conditions for the disposal, containerization, or carryout of human body waste have been established for the following: ò Dispose solid human waste in individual catholes dug 6 to 8 inches deep and 6 to 8 inches in diameter and at least 200 feet from water, camp, and trails. Cover and disguise the cathole when finished. ò Pack out all toilet paper and hygiene products. Not calling that post into question per se but I'd like to learn where exactly he/she read that.

i just read from another board...
you must use a portable toilet. this is according to the permit you get from the BLM/forest people.
Yeah Ray, I read that over there also and like you I have not seen any information on it yet. I will be staying at The AVI Casino Thursday and Friday night. There is plenty of parking there. On my last Mojave trip I slept in my truck, on the back lot, and met Les in the morning for breakfast. Regardless where everyone stays we should meet at the AVI casino at 8:30 or 9:00 am Saturday. AVI casino Rates are $70 per night for a double queen room. We could sleep 2 in the beds and at least that many on the floor. No snoring!!
