it 'should' run with the mass unpluged ..my 89 does ... have three mitsu's in the famliy running right now with out the mass pluged in ..right ..???.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />...

the thing they need to run is the tps ... if i unplug my 89 tps ..it starts and dies just did this last week.. the ecm (brain) gets votage from the key ..'say's' ok time to run fires the injecters ..'looks' for the tps to see ware the trottle plate is 'at'..cant find ware the trottle plate is at..turns its self off..????... dizzy maybe be looking for number one piston ... ecm maybe not be seeing the tps or dizzy ...it has to find things when it first starts.. mass maybe bad to and has been for some time ..the ecm just lost someting that makes it 'run' or it cant find it (tps) .. not ajust "how" (mass) it runs.. .. it will "plug and play" with the dizzy and run ..'if' it sees some thing from the dizzy other input... late tps plugs are junk ..right..???.. i've got mitsu's running on tps 'only' not right ..be driving one this morming 89 v6 monty ... ???.. not there cant see it .,.. sorry on the break now ..
I unplug my tps it starts .............then dies..(89 v6 ..running and has been with the mass not hooked up )..?????????????.. hope this helps ...sorry

it runs, I'm driving it everyday. I'm getting the MAF code and it's running like the MAF is unplugged, it struggles to start and hesitates off idle.
I've ran it a long time ago with the MAF unplugged just to see how it was and it runs just like that.
I'm pretty confident that the MAF is my problem(or at least one of them). I'll just wait until one comes up at pullapart, since they're only $6.50 there it's hard to pass up.

since they're only $6.50 there it's hard to pass up. you should stock up...they want $40 at my junkyard for some reason...if they had one <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Sidium Silicate aka Waterglass is the main ingredient in Block sealer. Origionally used to seal concrete, it will seal any cracks or leaks in a head.
Ed I am no chemist. I thought you meant the stuff they put in those "clunker" trade-in vehicle engines to make them unusable....thought you had traded in your truck, and watched it being executed
