Roll Me Over
This is not intended to be either provocative or argumentative.

I have been finding that it is increasingly difficult to get parts from the Isuzu parts channel. Increasingly, I am being told that a given part is no longer available from Isuzu.

Certainly we can change transmissions/tcases to something more available, but at what point does the effort to continue to run an Isuzu become just not worth the effort.

Right now Jerry (LeMond) is an invaluable source of parts. At some point, he is going to run out of parts.

I am hoping that this sparks some real discussion, not tirades on either side of the issue, i.e., (a) it is time to give up on running an Isuzu, or (b) I'll run my Isuzu until it simply falls apart.

Jim, the blue book value of my Axiom 4WD 2004 is around $4000 now. That s*cks. With this value, there is no point to sell it. If it will serve me for just couple years more, it will be more cost-efficient than selling it now for $4000 and looking for another vehicle. With only 20K miles on the odometer, I have a pretty good chance to keep it for 2-3 more years without major repair.

Hard to say...I don't see a serious problem for at least a few years, what with salvage yard availability and all. But there certainly could be an oddball part or two that could be a problem...I'm sure the VX guys are determined to keep 'em running for some time to come.

The '93 Amigo is still going strong.

And I just did an underbody replacement of all the pans plus the gas tank on the Rodeo.

Junk yards are going to stop stocking parts as we dwindle over time. I've got the 2004 DI engine, making the parts issue slightly worse.

From my persepctive, I'm going to ride this thing into the ground, fingers crossed.

I looked for the front brush guard in 2005 or 2006; Isuzu hadn't made enough to supply them in 2004.

I would guess a "long time" is the best answer.

260k on my '96
190k on my '95

I made a pact on the '96 to run it until it dies, and it has been going strong. One timing belt, a starter, brake pads, and the rear driveshaft u-joints. Oh wait, the state inspector made me change the upper a-arm bushings this year.
I have found ebay to be a good resource for parts.

1995 trooper LS. Wife won't let me improve this one.
1996 trooper. I'll need something to modify when the '87 finally rusts away.

I went to the local ford dealer ship a few months ago, all thats left of fairway isuzu here is their sign, and the ford dealer does all the isuzu repairs and parts.. I went to them to get a replacement transmission filler plug and some transmission seals.. The guy didn't want to order and directed me to some parts store I never found for the stuff.

With the amount of isuzu troopers and rodeos all over I'm sure they will keep aftermarket, and when it all dwindles, the last few companies that do offer parts will be making good money off it.

I hope for a long time.

I haven't been here in a while, but I see the same names. You men are hard core <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

I can find most hard parts at Advance Auto locally <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />. Nappa has far less of a selection at this point.

Electrical parts are most difficult.

Are there any places on the east coast that are options for parts?

For ZuZu parts on the east coast, get hold of Isuzu Master Guru Jerry Lemond in Dacula, GA.

You'll find him at this forum and at the Planet, just do a search.

Hey thanks Ed...again.

I still have all of the engine info you gave me. Waiting on the 2.8 to give up. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Need a Spot
Just had to replace the seals on my 4L30 Trans. It needed the two top plugs and shift shaft seal redone.

I am trying to find the two bushings on the mid point that connect the cab and frame. Most of the Auto parts houses out here give me some odd looks when they try to look up 93 Trooper parts.
