So my stock manifold is going to fall off the head soon, no way around it. I don't want another cast piece of crap if I'm going to have to replace it. I also can't justify the price of one of those wildcat or genie headers from Oz. So here's what I might try if I'm not proven to be a complete idiot right here and now. Over 5 years ago when the header was still a hot topic, Randy from solomiata.com stopped in and put forth that a 1.8l miata header would fit with a little port matching and a couple holes drilled. These headers are around $100 USD shipped to the states on ebay, and tend to have 4-2-1 setup with 2.25 or so outlet, and bungs for both O2 sensors. I doubt the thing will physically slip right into the sporty, just because that would be waaaay too easy. I was thinking that with a little bit of creative carnage I could get it to sit right in the car, and I have ABSOLUTELY no problem with opening up a can of die grinder on the header, exhaust ports or anything else for that offends me in the least. Any input on this, insults, death threats or otherwise are welcome as I've been mulling this over for a while and need opinions.
