Alright so as of right now i'm slowly gathering the peices for what will turn my Raider into The red Rocket trail Van(they called it a van on my regerstation card.....lol) of death!
I'm looking at mounting Ford super duty axles to this baby Dana 60 front Ford 10.5 rear........ using 2.5" 14" suspension King shock coilovers ....... now that the crazy words are all out on paper/text i was thinking of a four link set up running my trail arms long but now i've seen alot of things i.e track bar front and rear and stabilizer bars with crazy extensions now i'm just looking at a flood of thoughts ideas, and anything that i should consider or even do to make this thing super naughty, like i said its a longer term project i'm hoarding ideas plans and parts right now.

Thanks everyone

Temple

That seems like alot of weight for the stock motor... if you are planning on using the stock motor. As far as mounting goes, what method are you leaning towards the most? I would personally probably just use leaf springs but im a cheap lol

Make sure that the front is truly a 60, and not a 50.

EXACTLY! I had this problem and had to return one of mine.

You NEED to get the BOM # from the axle and run it through the Dana/Spicer web site to see what it REALLY is. Most sellers don't know what they've got.

Coilovers are cool. I'm installing 4 link front with Radflo shocks and Eibach springs.

Good luck. Depending on what wheel/tire combo you run, it will be a lot of weight. Keep in mind the newer metric Ford axles don't have a HUGE wheel offering, so be sure you're happy with what's available before you take the plunge! You won't be able to run any type of 15" wheel unless you want to grind the hell out of the calipers, so you're stuck with 16" and bigger wheels (tires cost more). You'll also need to beware of backspacing because of steering and brake caliper interference if you plan on running a custom made wheel (like I decided to do). Everything is possible, but be informed or you'll waste a lot of money on stuff you can't use.

REAR - FORD STERLING 10.5")
thats what i get when i parts search the truck. so hopefully it'll be a great deal if i can get the money around

I'm looking at the Ford 351 with the auto tranny and t-case out of and older 85-95 ford super duty to drive the the axles and depending on what i can get with locker and limited slip diff. i'd like to run the 5.13 gearing but i was reading on the site that it said the lockers would only work for 4.10 and numerically lower number............. so i'm now confused on how low of gearing i can actually go and get the locker and limited slip.

Body Damage is Cool
I think np231 swaps to your trans... you could do a np231/twinstick d300 doubler with 4:1s

Comp cut the rear and push the front out a bit with 4-link rear with 3 or 4 link up front
(92.5" wb ain't gonna get far up some bigger rocks)
[Linked Image]

41" irok radials and 7.17 gears with twin detroits. Good to go! Street or Rocks!

But thats just me

hmm yeah 4.10 wouldn't be that great... i'm suprised there isn't a locker for the shorter gear ratios. I don't know a thing about ford axles though.

Good ideas, but he's in Kali...tire coverage is an issue here.

Temple, proceed with caution, brother. Fitment catalogs (especially on the web) get it wrong all the time. I did exactly the same thing you did and ended up with a D50 once the BOM was checked. Just letting you know...
