So long as you stick to 37"s or smaller and use the stupid pedal judiciously you should be fine with a D44. Don't get me wrong, they can broken. But, they're tough enough for pretty rigorous duty. Good luck! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Uhmmm... well..

I broke a stock 44 on 35's. Chromo's are supposed to be alot stronger, so I doubt i'll break anymore front axles.

Seriously.... 37's... I'd want a v8. The performance difference on road was noticeably different between my old 35 inch X-terrains, and my new 36 inch tsl's .

SO.... no bigger tires for me on this truck. I just can't see a Gen1 with a stock wheelbase, and stock axle configuration realistically going bigger than this. I'm certainly not saying it's impossible, BUT.......

IF I were to build a Gen1 Bigger than what I currently have, I would want to comp cut the front at LEAST, and build a coil spring 4 link setup. It'd have to have a V8 as well.
