If by the "big hill" you mean the long ledge climb in the canyon (certainly the longest obstacle on Kane Creek), I was very proud that we got everybody in our group up that hill without a strap, and very little stacking either. That includes the open/open 1st gen Trooper like yours...minus the boats. But yes, it took a while trying to find the right lines to keep at least 3 wheels on the ground at all times. That's part of the fun!

Just be careful with your throttle control, if you break a CV it will be a loooong day trying to get out of there in 2WD...or better yet find someone to wheel with.

Speaking of which, there is a Vehicross owner in Moab, at least he was living there in May. He met us on the trail after he got off work...not sure how you could track him down though. He works at the big uranium tailings pile at the north end of town.
