Getting the Wheeling Fever
i was worried about the front end in a few spots. i think that the cv joints might be worn or something because when i put it under lots of stress i heard a poping noise in the front end. we have actually moved on from moab but i plan on coming back in the spring. my parents want to go on a road trip to and i told them that utah is the place to go through on the way to calli. hopefully i will get a little work done on the trooper between now and then. some lift or something. any way, i will try to post some of the videos later.

The popping would be the AUTO hubs locking and unlocking as the wheels load/unload. Not great, but they will eventually die. Manual hubs are the way to fix the problem.

Good luck,
Michael

Glad to see the trip is going good. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Have you done an oil change yet or any other maintenance on the Trooper?

i thought that it might have something to do with the auto hubs. I was hoping to put in manual ones any way so its no big deal. Two the other question, we have gone about 9300 miles and i have changed the oil twice. it will probably get changed again right after we get home. we will actually be home tomorrow but i am still going to try to get the video up loaded from our home pc. fortunately i am planing on a second road trip in the spring with my parents so there will be a trooper road trip II in the future. between now and then i will keep you updated on any upgrades or cool stuff. thanks for your support and help. it has made the trip easier and more fun for me. thanks again and ill get those videos uploaded as soon as i can.
Dominic.

Nice, Dominic! Man, the feeling of getting home is always just as sweet as the feeling of leaving in the first place. Very exciting! Congrats on a GREAT trip!
