Just wondering why you didn't go with a pair of Earl's in the front? P.N. EAR-63010116ERL looks to be the same length as the Russel and are $14 each cheaper also the Earl's adapters P.N. EAR-989534ERL are $32.34 for 6. Gets to total from $114.23 to $67.98 - plus shipping... I'll do my own reply about this question. If you plan on driving your vehicle on public roads DO NOT use Earls lines. I read through the section of CFR49 relating to brake lines today and in order for a brake line to carry a DOT rating there is a lot of validation testing they need to go through. Holly (Earls) does not do the proper testing to certify these lines to DOT standards. In today's litigious society a lawyer would have great fun suing your butt for using none DOT rated parts that failed and caused an accident on your vehicle and your insurance company probably would not stand behind you.

I think your sarcasm may have been taken more personally than it was intended...
I caught your drift. The Montero and Raider should be the same. Therefore, if there's a listing for one, there should a listing for the other.
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

Yeah, hazy_daze, I was referring to tirerack.com not having them listed for both vehicles. Doesn't seem like too difficult a thing to accomplish. But what do I know?
And in my head, it sounded like I was yelling at a dance troupe.

And in my head, it sounded like I was yelling at a dance troupe. LOL, ok it wasn't clear whom you were referring to with that comment since you put it in a paragraph directed at Kevin. I just reread this thread now and I again thought you were speaking to kevin or the rest of us, versus the Tire Rack. Well, glad you weren't saying it that way. Seem just a wee bit abrasive if you had been. But as you realize, the dodge raider & mitsu montero are likely 99.9% identical badges, paint & grill are the differences IIRC. Just thinking out loud now... I'm not clear though what you mean about adapting stock lines to fit. Are you looking to make it easier to buy brake lines or something? If so, if you step back a bit and think it through... the stock lines lasted probably 20 years. If they're not the original lines, then lets say for arguments sake, 10 years or even 5 years. Myself, I'd likely change them in that much time regardless of if they're stainless lines braided with an 'unobantinium superman defeating metal alloy'. You know what I mean?

I apologize that I seemed abrasive; I definitely wasn't pointing a finger at anyone here. Nothing but loverly, helpful people here.
What I'm getting at is this: I always have -3 hoses around in various lengths. And, yes, they are DOT approved. If I pop or snag a hose, I grab another from my stock and I'm mobile.

Rockauto.com had good pricing on the brake lines and hoses the last time I checked if you were wanting to replace stock for stock. Thats part of my next project on my truck when I get in to service the brakes.

I've been reading and re-reading that post to see how it is insulting.
I finally got it. It really does sound like I'm calling Greg B an idiot while making myself look like a complete
Oh, Grasscat, I can't promise that. I don't have the sense to know what I'm saying.
