Ok I ran a search but couldn't find any similar symptoms. My fuel gauge hasn't worked since I bought my 1988 Trooper. The low fuel light comes on and off but not in relation to the fuel level. I get like 19mpg and fill up after around 350 miles been lucky so far I have been told that my sending unit is bad. We have tested wires, fuses, relays and gauge from front to back. My question is... JC Whitney sells a $425 fuel pump assembly and Autozone has an $85 fuel pump. I get fuel so pump is working. But will either of these products solve the gauge/lite issue? It is a minor inconvenience but soon to have teenager driving and don't want her getting stuck IF I let her borrow my Trooper Any takers on this issue. Thanks ahead of time.
