Sorry to be so confusing about this. I appreciate your patience too. Correct I have no issues driving. I only have a guesstamite as to how much fuel I have. I mentioned the fuel pump only because all of the diagrams that I have found make it look as if the pump and sending unit are one.

As for easy stuff first I appreciate that approach a great deal.An experienced mechanic friend of mine and I started at the in dash gauge and worked are way forward to the relays/fuses and backward to the fuel tank. Every thing seemed to be ok.

Question: Are the gauge and the indicator light(center of tach-speedo cluster) independent of each other? My indicator light will usually go off when I fill all the way up then comes back on after a short while, but the guage needle doesn't move.
Also I have not been able to locate a sending unit at any of the DIY parts stores, does any one have a suggestion as to where I can find a suitable replacement?

Again I am very glad that this forum exists I have been able to learn alot about Troopers here. But what is Gen 1 and Gen 2 where is the manufacture date break?
