im getting a rumbleing sound and vibration on the decel side but hit the gas and it stops not sure what it is wheel bearings or the half shaft is bad but not sure or it could be bad drive shaft maybe i dont know. this only happens when 4wheel is engaged or the hubs are locked in but free wheeling is fine so i think bearings are out of the pic. hmmmm any ideas or experince with this kind of thing would help.

I had the same noise. The rear u-joint on my front drive shaft was completely shot. Took it to a local dealership since I'm the original owner (lessee) and it had under 100K on the clock. They did about $2K to $3K of warranty work for me including hubs, half shafts and new drive shaft. All I was looking for was a new u-joint! I figured they took advantage of the situation to boost their income in a bad economy since Kia reimburses them for warranty work.

GONE, all I have left are a few spare parts and the wheels.

mine is in the half shafts, took out the front drive shaft and locked the hubs in and still have the noise and vibration,i guess it could be hubs half locked or something not sure yet.

Could be bad outer axle bearings. They don't turn unless your either in four wheel, or hubs are locked. Mine were fried.

hmmm that is possible because took the hub off and put in 4wheel and noise is there so it has to be bearing or shaft orielys has shaft for 59.99 so ordering that and bearings do it all while i got it a part
i know bearings are shot any way because when front end is off the ground grab the wheel and there is alot of play there.

If I'm replacing bearings should I just go ahead and replace inner and outer?

thats what im going to do it is 6.50 for inner and 6.50 for outer so if doing one while im there do the other not expensive so take it how u want work now or down the road have the other go bad and have to take it apart again.

You might want to think about the needle bearing as well while your in there. I have had to do both of mine and I have done all wheel bearings as well.

Is the spindle or needle bearing dealer only?

Yes it was for me.
I think they were under 20 Canadian each.
I can throw up the pic I have of that area if you like.
