I'd be more inclined to get the whole thing if I damaged more than just the pump and/or had room to store it. Something I won't be able to tell until I pull the front cover off. Anyone ever replaced the pump in the transmission? You will be pulling the "input shaft " and the "pump"... You must stand the trans in its end with the pump facing up ... If you do not shims and plates "could" drop out of place that are deep down in the trans ... Try that it will help .. If it on its side as in the truck ...You pull the shaft shims may drop think about it ..???
