you might be able to get away with swapping pump and TC but for the cost of them both from a JY it might be cheaper to grab the whole trans.

I can get a tc for $25 and then the pump for about $10, whereas a transmission would cost $99. I'd be more inclined to get the whole thing if I damaged more than just the pump and/or had room to store it. Something I won't be able to tell until I pull the front cover off. Anyone ever replaced the pump in the transmission?

If your going to pull the pump ... You will be pulling the "input shaft " and the "pump"... You must stand the trans in its end with the pump facing up ... If you do not shims and plates "could" drop out of place that are deep down in the trans ... Try that it will help .. If it on its side as in the truck ...You pull the shaft shims may drop think about it ..???

Good to know, haztoys. In that case pulling an entire trans might be the way to go, just to avoid the hassle.
