Dang, at least I wear safety glasses and rubber gloves.

You'd be amazed at the calls I got after it was found out I attended a wound management class.

You'll see more of that with ppl making too much to receive Medicaid and not enough to have their own coverage.

You sissies. I had one on the back of my neck, about that big too. They better be sure to get the cyst sac out from under there or else it will grow back. I had mine surgically removed too... stitches suck

I'm with StockRaider...

Stitches suck.. Just as staples suck...

Been sliced, diced, stitched and stapled...

And, cysts rank below kidney stones for massive discomfort....

It is the "perfect storm" of a number of factors. Not necessarily "unclean".

Just the right irritation conditions with proper moisture and heat.

I was told they are normally caused by deep ingrown hairs and such. I HATED that thing. I couldn't sleep at night and up until it was removed I had to pop advil like it was candy. Once it was removed I slept like a baby.

Often, it's an infected sweat gland.

I find it interesting that you guys were so grossed out by that. Others I know were as well. Things like that don't really affect me that way for some reason.

I once stopped at a motorcycle accident on my way home from work. I was also riding my bike. I picked the wrecked bike up and moved it to a safer spot, then went to assist the rider (who I didn't realize was still on the ground). About the same time I got to him, the paramedics pulled up so I helped them with whatever they needed. Dude had one leg turned around the wrong way, you could see his guts sticking out of a wound in his abdomen and his fingers looked like VERY fresh ground beef.

I got back on my bike and continued riding after they loaded him into the ambulance. I still ride today.

But then, I often use needlenose pliers to treat my ingrown toenails. Just soak my feet for a few minutes, then start peeling the offending nail edge back, tearing it from the rest of the nail, until I get all the way back to the nail bed. Then I get a good grip on the part of the nail I peeled back (using the pliers still), and give it a good yank straight out the front. Pulls a bit of attached stuff out from wherever the nail starts growing, but doesn't bleed too much. I don't have to do that too often, though.

I also get cysts like that in much more, uh... sensitive areas than shoulders. I usually squeeze them until they burst. It's just easier than waiting for them to rupture on their own. Hurts a lot, though. Mine are caused by stress.

I had to deal with 2 dogs that had gotten fly strike... nasty stuff when you have a dog run off and come back looking like a zombie dog from resident evil. brown goo muscle covered in maggots... the other one was small and I was able to treat it and save the dog.

Should be noted the first one ran off and had a tumor split open... she was almost nothing when I found her.

Cysts are not a big deal...

Stitches, staples, and kidney stones are a major big deal....

I was eating a turkey sammich with mayo on it while watching that video and wasn't affected.

Only thing that ever really bugged me was helping my mom change her drain bag when she got a tummy tuck. (was collecting blood and puss for about 4 days)
