I want to go Salmon fishing in Alaska.
But after all, for a Caribbean guy like me Alaska might be too cold even when in the 70* <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
But I want to go, <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> I want to go <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

>>>*I am with you there, I had plans once to go to Alaska and rent a small airplane, have the wife and I dropped off at some remote lake nobody has ever been to or some wild river.

By the time I got to the "It'll be FUN, honey!" she was going in to pack her bags to move back in with her mother.

I did get to a place called the Campbell river in Canada, Vancouver Island in roughly 1965. I had a whole card of those red and white Daredevil spinners, some nice 10 pound test line, etc.

*Learned my lesson there, I managed to land just one little 14 pound Coho and snagged some Humpies by accident, the rest ate my spinners and swam off. Think of snagging the southbound freight train while standing on a rock. Never in my life have I ever seen so many huge fish in one spot.

I remember I saw one fish swim by the rock I was standing on, I just stared at it, it was not possible for there to be anything like that in that river.

*Thing had to be 60-70 pounds.

I wants to catch one of those.

I saw a Bear that day, it was fishing on the other side of the river. We looked at each other with a bit of suspicion, then went back to fishing. It caught one bigger than I caught, then it left. About that time a horn went off and I was standing there with a foot of water OVER the rock! *Found out later the horn was a warning, a dam upstream was releasing water.

I got the heck outa there.

I am thinking next Summer, I probably will have to go alone but I really want to spend a couple of weeks out in the middle of nowhere fishing before I get too danged old to do it..

I did just suggest that again to the wife. She said "uh huh."...*LOL**.....*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

Do it Ted. And take Tod with you. That is something that should never be on the wistful 'wish-I-had' list. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
