That's messed up Ted. The lingcod run this year has been pretty good. Am hoping to get down to PWS for some late fishin' m'self.
>>>*The few times I made it out to the jetty I was having a heck of a time this year. I keep hitting big ones, they are tough to handle in the rocks. Every once in awhile I manage to drag one out.
I watch the tourists, they throw gobs way out in the river, I guess they are after Seals since that is all that is out there.
I am usually fishing in holes back inside the jetty, but now it is time for my bobber and spinner setup for Salmon. Most folks fish on the bottom, I fish on the surface. We even troll spinners behind floats, everybody looks at us like we are crazy.
We catch fish, they catch rocks. They see us trolling in 2 feet of water and just shake their heads, we use our little 8' punt for doing that.
Fish are lazy, that is a secret...*LOL**...
By mid October the Salmon will be right in front of my house, there is a rock shelf that runs out into the river and every single fish coming up the river ends up in that exact same spot sooner or later. I have another spot that is a tiny channel, get in it and we catch them, 4 feet either way and never a bite. The fish seem to come through almost nose to tail there.
Chinook are running over 50# this year, that is wild! One boat took three of them, neat story in the paper. One 47#, another 56# and one 59 1/2#.
I wants one!!!....But first I have to work this week, while the kids are off getting seasick.....*I think that part is funny!...*EB
