I am not a MegaSquirt expert but I hope to become one. I'm pretty sure you could scrounge some coil packs from the junk yard and fire them with the MegaSquirt for a fraction of the price of anything you could buy at LC Engineering. Not to speak ill of those folks, but to me, Toyota 4x4 wrenching is also about getting excellent results on the cheap.

There was somebody on this forum who had built a custom turbo'd 22RE using the MegaSquirt system. I like the fact that MegaSquirt is an open source project with a big community of hackers supporting it. I'm pretty sure fuel and ignition curves and parameters have been worked out and logged for the 22RE and are publicly available on one of the MegaSquirt forums. -- Matt
