Hey, just curious as to whether any of you guys are using, or know of anyone using the Electromotive Ignition Kit that LC has?

[Linked Image]

not sure you EFI guys would really be interested, but seems like this would be a great add-on for the carb folks for optimizing timing. no more distributor.

I'd tell you like I tell anyone about ignition mods for our rigs-- don't let your stock stuff get too far away from ya; almost impossible to find anymore if you toss your stuff.

That's kinda cool tho; still a couple carbies around my place.

Nice. But LCE sells teh SDS kit to convert to EFI which is a good simple system. I've never seen someone run that with the carbie.
Also kewlynx, it's not a "MSD" or "Jacbobs" power booster, this is a FULL distributer-less ignition, much different. Also, if it's sold by LCE, it probably works...

Sooo... does that require replacing the crank pulley? That would stink to have to do.

Yeah, I guess that just comes from me living somewhere that you hoard your 22Rx parts- even the workshop that one of the machine shops sponsors uses a 22R block most the time. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" />

I don't think it requires replacing the crank pulley, but not really sure.

here's that SDS EFI conversion kit, though... something to think about, not that you EFI'd folks care smile

still requires an OEM intake, injectors & throttle body. fuel pump & filter as well, I'd imagine. wonder how difficult a job this would be. I've grown to love the simplicity of my Weber setup, but sure would be nice to have the optimization of EFI...

The EFI is actually used on alot of efi trucks, because it gives you 100% ability to tune, and raise red lines, tune for porting, cams, headers, intake, etc. Few people over on customtacos are using them.
You'd prob need an EFI intake (89+ is better).

yeah, that was more just an intro. I know better than to pop on and ask people to do my work for me smile

thanks for the heads up there. not sure how serious I am about this yet. gonna do a little suspension project first and then call LC to get more info on just what exactly I'd need. they say manifold, throttle body, injectors. I'd imagine there are going to be other bits and pieces, too, like the fuel pump, and wondering about those air metered pieces and such.
