Getting the Wheeling Fever

Anybody know the color code for the orginal
steel wheels?
Have 5 of them with bad paint that I would like
to get in better shape.

If you are painting the whole thing, get whatever color you like. Changing them to black is cool.

They came chrome, but I know the bad paint thing. My silver truck's rims had been painted silver/gray. So I rattled canned them black, MAJOR improvement. Sparkem has them I think still. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I've had one good condition painted steel wheel, kinda green silvery metallic like the old Chevy Rallye wheels. Krylon marketed some 'OE' type colors a few years ago. I've seen gold metallic wheels on 86 Monteros and 87 Raiders.

Hmmm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Looks like you guys got the crome version and we got the white paint version. Picture of painted steel wheel Have seen a couple of imported Pajeroes with crome wheels. Maybee i just paint them a nice shade of white. (or tell the guy with the powder coat to use white..)

I have a 89 that came with factory painted gray steel wheels.

Not all steelys here in the US were chrome. More were painted than chorme or aluminum.
