What HP/torque gains are you expecting from the mods?

Looks AWESOME! Well, except for the crummy single ground spark plugs. I stopped having problems with my URD fuel kit and 2.2" pulley the instant I got rid of the single ground spark plugs and went to dual ground plugs, as recommended by Toyota.

lol... jk dude... primo stuff there. i'd ceramic coat them downey headers if i were you though, if they aint already.

Lol, yea they are ceramic coated already... should be good to go.
1 question, there are welds on the inside that block flow/create turbulence, if i grind them smooth with a die grinder, will the ceramic coating peel off? (everywhere, not just the place i grind).. wondering now, i don't want to coat them again, i'll just leave them and deal with the loss of 3hp.

snowtoy, i'm expecting about 275 hp / 320 lb-ft at the rear wheels (350hp/380lb-ft at the crank)
A stock 3.0 dynos about 110-115hp, and a stock 3.4 dynos 150-155hp at the wheels. Should give it a little pep

jeff, very interesting, i'm not going to use the plugs in the pic, he included some IK22's as well, but if i get the same problem you did, then i will do what you've done. thanks for the info.

Corey.... SOON soon... i'm busy like a fly in shi.... LOL... got to get the alltrac running, stripped a hole in the head, DAMN soft aluminum.... trying to decide if i want to do it myself or get the shop down the street to do it, (heli-coil)... it's in quite a precarious position... hrm...

So this thread's been dead for a few months... (7?) finally getting back to working on the truck... got a bit done this weekend, engine on the stand, and.... i need quite a few more seals (argh). The kit i bought only does the top end... ONLY... back to toyota...
Anyways, since the dealership is closed on sundays, i decided to paint the valve covers. I used VHT Wrinkle Plus and (i think) they turned out great. Not perfect, but if you saw what i was starting with....
I sprayed tonnes of paint on them in thin coats, then baked in the oven at 200F for 20 minutes... came out like this:

Better than $200 for LCE covers. I should be updating more frequently now, weather is nice.

Cheers,
Greg

Those look pretty cool, man! I didn't know they made engine paint that looked like that.

Greg -- wow! Very cool project! I just saw this thread and am blown away by your dedication to Doing This The Right Way -- well done! Great picts, too.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how the engine goes together and fits into its new rig. Please keep the updates coming

Just out of curiosity, is there any gain from using a MAF from the supra? And also will it swap right in? I Have a 98 T100 with the same MAF system as your 98 4Runner.
