OK, so Frank started this off.... OK, OK I did You can check the Land-rover thread for interesting place names in GA. The best one I've heard so far on this side of the pond is Mianus in CT I seem to remember some TV show (like Jack ) where they went to Mianus with a telescope and said 'I want to see Uranus from Mianus' ROFL (I might grow up...one day ) To even things up, here are some funny British place names. I used to do a bike race that started in Wormegay (Worma-gee) and another starting in Six Mile Bottom Come on, let's hear'em
'97 Montero 'LSR' - 4.6 gears & factory rear locker, 33" Procomp muds on 15x8 steelies, 50mm coil spacers, T-bar crank, Airlift, sans rear sway, 50mm rear frame & fuel tank lift, Aisins, ARB front bumper + 10k lb winch, 50mm DIY body lift, rock sliders, cut rear quarter panels...

I know some folks from Slapout AL. There's Between, GA. That's all I can think of at the moment.
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

Lickskillet, AL
Buzzard Roost, Alabam.
Zip City, Al (zip, and you're all the way thru town)
Soddy Daisy TN
Kansas and Texas, AL, about 2mi apart..
Arab, AL, pronounced Ay-rab
Bendo, CO (used to be in the bend of the river)
Red Bay, AL (landlocked - musta been a horse)
GA is weird. None of the towns with the same name as a county name is in the county with the same name.
Not responsible for advice not taken...

GA is weird. None of the towns with the same name as a county name is in the county with the same name. That's true for the most part, Eddy. But, there are a couple exceptions. For instance: Carrollton, Douglasville, Licolnton, Warrenton and Elberton. Those are the only ones we can think of here at the NAPA store on a slow Friday afternoon, without looking at a map... EDIT: Forgot about Talbotton (sp?), Fayetteville, Dawsonville, Greensboro. We cheated and got out the map... Damn we're bored...
