hey all,
I was getting ready to install a new steering dampener, and realized that the previous owner removed the stock brackets when he installed the Rancho steering damper.

I'd like to install the OEM type again and am looking for the brackets. Does anyone have this stuff laying around, or access to parts at a local salvage yard? we don't seem to get many of our trucks around here.

theres a place here that will surely have whatever you are looking for, but pretty pricey as far as salvage yards are concerned. post up a pic of something that will give me an idea what you are looking for, because on mine the tab is welded onto the axle housing.

well, thing was, I didn't know exactly what I needed.
just pulled up the FSM .pdf and found the steering section.
looks like all I'm missing is the mounting hardware!

I'll just stop by the dealership this week and get this stuff on order.

thanks a lot for offering to help, though! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

HEY!
I just happen to have a Rancho dampener I got form somebody... bu tdon't have the brackets for it!
Scott, when you get thsi wrapped up... can I get that from ya?
yeah, I don't think tehre is any kind of "bracket" for teh stock dampener, it bolts on one end to the relay rod, on teh other to a small mount on the frame.
FYI the OME dampener unit is a no-bracket replacement for stock.

There aren't any brackets for the factory damper.
Monroe makes a replacement that doesn't require any brackets either.
