Body Damage is Cool
my old D-50 and my friends D-50 both have weber carbs on them with 2.5" free flowing exhaust, it didn't affect the way it ran at all, it was a big upgrade actually!! I would put money on the timing, if its backfiring through the carb its definitely firing wrong!!

Getting the Wheeling Fever
ok, i checked the vacuume and its fine. i did reset the timing to 7,it was at 12. so that helped. i then drove 200+ miles and the same thing is happening. dead spot at around 2500-3200rpm,and surging at a constant speed. ive ordered new jets from the webercarbdirect as thats the only place i could find that has them. im moving the jets sizes from 125 to 150-160. that should help. i`ll let cha know.i`ve put a magna flow cat on,so ive got back pressure. thanks for all the help. i`ll will return favor.

nother day,nother busted knuckle.

alright. i got the jets. when i went to put them in,i dropped the float bowl pivot(brass thingy)down into the frame. this put an extra hr to this repair as i had to flush it out with water.i hadnt said that many choice words sence boot. to check it i drove it from baytown,tx to baton rouge,la(aprox. 280 miles.)wow, what a difference! all of my problems..gone. i had to watch my speed more closly as speeding isnt a problem anymore. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
