I doubt the front diff would hold up under race conditions under continual shock loading of desert racing (airborne at times).
The diff is able to deal with the outright HP/torque in the S2000 OK, but the wheels never leave the road and there is minimal jarring to the driveline.
Coming from someone that has blown 2 fronts and a tcase (the other weak spot to consider), going no faster than 20 mph.

I don't know how many of you know this but the Sportge dominated in off road racing for about 5 years in the stock short wheel base class. A mild lift, 31" tires, roll cage and a 2.3 strocker engine and off they went. They never talked about blown front diffs. I'm sure there was a little more to the build up than that but you don't use 4wd much when racing anyway. Low range 2wd is a blast in the sand, Dennis

i agree, if you are gonna be messing around in the desert you realy shouldnt need 4x4, although it would be nice for some situations.
