Need a Spot
Hi, on a 4WD passport, how difficult is it to replace the front and rear rotors? I don't think they just pop off after removing the wheels and calipers. Any special tools needed?

Getting the Wheeling Fever
They should just pop off. Most of the time they get corroded and are hard to remove. So what you need to do is tap it with a small sledge or hammer right next to the studs so you dont damage the outside fo the rotor. To avoid damaging the studs you can screw on the lugs nuts. It will take a while, but they will eventually get knocked loose and pop off.

Well...before anyone goes hammering on anything let's look at a few specifics.

For the front, the hubs have to come off and the rotor is then unbolted from the hub.

For the rear, you will probably have to back off the parking brake that resides inside the hat of the rotor before it comes off, but it should slide off over the studs.

Good Luck,
Michael
