Last weekend I pulled some shrubs out with the Mon-Tracto-r... I few long hard tugs and then a fast yank and they came out super easy. Monday, I had the kids, driving them to school I needed a little more go-go-go so I hit the OD button to shift down faster and pass the Q-tip infront of me......and I see an O/D OFF light come on. Dam, never saw that before. I must have shook something loose... or into place. It always scares me more when things randomly START working rather than stop.

Self fixing, I like that !

You need to watch a MG owner start their car. It's like a ritual drum beat. Hit this, pound that, kick something under the dash. Turn around three times, a few hail Mary's and then turn the key.

Think that was bad, the FJ40 had a hand crank. I was never able to turn the motor over that way, even with 3 husky friends helping.

And I had a TR3B that would not start unless you patted the shifter, gently.

Funny, that's what my wife does to get me going, too.

Wonder where she learned that...

My Grandfather used to sell Jags in his garage in the early 50's. He had many XK's, but he always used to tell me he'd never have an Aston Martin (probably while I was drooling over a picture of one as a kid ). He said he had a neighbor with a brand new Aston. Same thing with the ritual every morning and it still didn't start half the time I'd still take one though
