Anyone remember steve1814? He showed here breifly in 07 with his white 99montero that was my almost twin with his heavily-nodded JAOS stuff?
We made a deal on a touch screen Kenwood system that I bought and then he disappeared? He was a freaking wiz at wiring. Last time we talked, he bought an electric climte-controlled unit for his Montero, had power-inverters, speaker system, TVs for the kids in the back and a reverse camera hooked. All done very tasteful! Would love to see how it looks now?

I remember that guy! I like the mitsu climate control systems.. it's a shame it never ended up in the Gen 1 and 2.

This thread is an enjoyable diversion. Amazing to think about how much time has gone by since I first got my original montero and found this site. A bit melancholy too to think back!
What about the Isuzu side of things:

I miss Carey aka bigblue for his unparalleled tech expertise, and seeratlas for the highest bs content per sentence I've ever seen...
I got an email from Carey some time back, a while after he stopped posting. I know he was a little short with some folks, but he taught mech to teenagers, which uses up your bullshit tolerance fast. I always found him to be a gentleman and a scholar...

My imagination says:
Big Blue looks at Lloyd's 2-door in total disgust at the 'deplorable' condition of gear, maintenance and overall cleanliness.
Lloyd looks over Big Blue's 2-door and wonders why someone spends so much time making everything so clean.
They exchange 'pleasantries' about their completely different approaches. Words become shouts. They must be physically removed from each other's sight.
All of five minutes has elapsed...

John B. IIRC, they did sit around a campfire in Eureka CO. It was one of the trips Mitch put together. Things were very friendly.
