Oh...BigBlue would be, too. I just don't think he'd show up. He's invited, though. I once PM'd him about how to post pictures here. I probably should've saved that paragraph, 'cause it ain't easy at this point... Hint, hint, mods...

I know, it's being worked on...

One thing I have seen is that since we have gotten to know each other (for the most part) only through what we post, a significant part of normal social interaction is missing, face to face contact.

I think that face to face moderates how people relate to each other. Without it whatever quirks we have tend to get amplified when 99% of the interaction is through 4X4 wire posts.

Everyone I have met in person was great. I even hung out with Eric when I went to Arizona. I realized that there was a big disconnect between how he came over in his posts and what he was like in person. He was a lot stranger than I ever imagined!

Just kidding , seriously it was fun meeting that group. We all hung out at a club that my then girlfriend was playing at. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago.

Don't know about BigBlue but I've wheeled with Lloyd a few times. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to wheel'n. My rig would probably be stuck between a couple of rocks on the Dusy if he wasn't there. I'll wheel with him any time.

The wheeling is always great ! It's when you let your fingers type the real trouble starts

Body Damage is Cool
LOL Lloyd. He sure knew how to stretch things! No doubt, he was a good, avid, and dedicated wheeler. But listening to him, he'd have you believe the Montero (well, only HIS model Montero) was the best off road vehicle, bar-none, including buggies! He claimed he could take a Montero on 31's through the hardest trails available, with minimal strapping or winching.
And he wondered why he had to defend himself with statements like that.

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.

"Baldy" hasn't been around in a long time.

Last I heard he was sick of being a cop and getting sued by criminals all the time.

Well, I guess I'm a little biased. But I get a little irritated with the Lloyd criticizers. When it came to research and development for our rigs, the guy was willing to put his money where his mouth is and get things done. The guy contributed quite a lot to our small community, some of which some guys here, including myself, are reaping the benefits from. This seems to be forgotten.

Lloyd was the one who sent his T-case to Australia in order to get the research and development done for the gears we now have available for our rigs. this was after he had also sent cases to terraflex and calmini, who both told him it could not be done..

Its possible that without Lloyd's efforts in AU and testing that ARB would have never never produced the RD-110 front locker. I think someone here still has has his front Detroit that was custom machined in AU. I think Misterbishi would have a little more on that. There are still guys here sporting the Lloyd designed bumpers on their rigs as well.

So yea the guy loved the Montero almost to a fault, but his passion for these rigs helped a lot of us out at the same time. Hopefully some of you guys wont forget that as the years go by. Lloyd contributed more than most of us have to improving these rigs.

I've wheeled with quite a few people from this board all good folks, but if I had to pick one guy to wheel with I'd have to say it would be Lloyd.

[quote]Lloyd still wheels. He just got tired of posting his experiences with equipment or wheeling opinions and always having to defend himself.

Can't blame him there.
I feel the same way.
