I'm gonna bump this thread from the past... I've got 2 different trans that I picked up now...

1 is a KM148-6-FS1 and the other is a V4AW2-3..

The KM148-6 is out of a late 90 and I don't think has the lockup??? (no documentation supports this)..

The V4AW2-3 is from a 91 1st gen V6 and does have lockup...

But I'm hearing that the KM148's might have them?

AHHHHH!!!! Would like to get REDCAR converted before the Death Valley trip <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

not according to CAPS. 3000-RR COIL and WAGON models show the KM148-6-FS1

both those models will be a 3.0. A 2.6 will be a swb, every time in this market. P code will be a non l/u, IIRC...

true.. but going back to my original question...

what's the difference between a KM148-6-FS1 and a V4AW2-3 ??

Both were shown as options on the 90/91 6G72.. but the KM148 shows a "non locking clutch"

Just don't want to get too far into this swap and find I'm screwed..

If you have both trannys, why dont you just swap in the 91 unit? The one designated as KM148 most likely is non-lockup. I swapped out the KM148 that was in my 89 with a 91 lockup unit.
