I've got 33x9.5's on mine for the winter and love them. Give you a couple more inches of ground clearance as well.
Now, if you want to float on the snow, you'll need 11.5" or wider. (9.5" cut through the snow and hit the ground). To me they are great all-year tires, however i would not use them for mudding. Everything else they handily outshine my bfg m/t km1's....

The best all around tire I have ever used. Good traction. Quiet on the road. Wear well. No complaints. On my second set.

The BFG AT's are perfect for a DD vehicle that sees mostly highway miles. They work great in the snow(floatation), rocks(preferably dry), sand, etc. As mentioned they aren't the best for mud, but work well enough on muddy logging/forest service roads, and shallow mud(few inches deep)

The last set of AT's(non KO) lasted 70k miles and still had legal tread when I swapped for my current set of KO's. BFG doesn't offer a mileage warranty, but if you rotate them every 3500-5k, keep the alignment correct, you shouldn't have an issue w/tread wear. If you have one near you. America's Tire Store has a '"No Questions asked" replacement warranty(used to), which makes it nice when you puncture a sidewall on the trail.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

I love my set.
I'll buy nothing else.

Not great is deep slimy clay lake bottom mud with a crust on it.
Don't ask how I know.

For an all around tire, I liked the 33x10.50 AT/KOs I ran on my '85:

Two downsides I found was that on gravel the tread tends to pick up ad throw lots of rocks, would be a problem with most any AT tread though. With MTs, I find almost no rocks thrown up under the truck. Also that tighter tread pattern seemed more prone to picking up road debris and causing flats. I think I had two flats on those ATs over their lifetime compared to none for two sets of BFG MTs.

But for pavement and in snow they were awesome tires.

I have had 2 sets on my '81. First set I got a 100k miles and served me well in socal. I bought a second set when I first moved to central Oregon and discovered they did not do well in the snow and mud and they must have changed the compound because they wore out in about 50k.
