There is a very expensive gas station about 30 miles east of Baker. I do not know whether this is the same pictured. Its the Shell station in the background in one of Johns photos. $3.99 a gallon. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

couple questions:
1. did anyone get cell service out in the trail? the entire trail or just certain spots?
2. how much gas did everyone use and did everyone needed the spare gas at the end?
3. one pix had a gas station showing $4+ per gallon... where was that?
can anyone print out the path using gps breadcrumbs?
thanks... I have AT&T service and the first day of the trip I did not have service. On the second day i did have intermittent service throughout the day and i believe i had cell service at the camp site. On the last leg of the trip i don't know if i had service since my battery was low. On my Raider 2.6 i did use all my gas plus an additional 5 gallons of spare gas. I would of felt more comfortable having an extra 10 gallons. The second nights campground was close to Baker so i gas up my tank there.

people from the san fran bay area, what route did you take from barstow to the casino?
hwy 40 or i-15?

so did you take that road marked KELBAKER RD? it looks like it's paved, from google maps...

hwy 40 or i-15? they took 40. Some BA guys (like me) went directly to Caruthers, on I-15.
