Wow, I knew that H-D was having issues, but Buell is a surprise. Not that I was regretting it, but I'm really glad now that my interview with them last year didn't go any further.

When I receive that link earlier the first thought I had was how horrible it would have been for you had you relocated up there just to be terminated within a year.

Things aren't going so hot where I'm at now. We just had our third layoff announcement yesterday. Although I don't think I'm affected, I'll find out today. I know these furloughs are getting old.

Really? I doubt that Buell has ever turned a profit.

WOW, I am shocked. I have ridden many Buells and they are superb bikes.

Even got to meet Erik Buell in person and he is a great down to earth guy and awesome innovator.

I think that been under the arm pit of HD was the problem. Once Buell, sort of, parted away from using HD engines and started using Rotax, HD started as well to get tired of Buell being innovating way ahead of HD's conservative vision. You cannot build a chassis, like Buell did, around an engine that is not at the same performance level. Buell chassis needed something more advance, like the Porsche developed V-Rod engine or the superb Rotax.

Well that plus the economy crushed them down.

Sad, very sad news for our motorcycle community.

I'm not happy to see them fail, but I NEVER understood the appeal of those things. Looked ugly and sounded lame...this comes from a guy riding an '83 Nighthawk. lol
