Body Damage is Cool

Always found the Buell's interesting. I ride a Honda VFR Interceptor which falls into same sort of grey area between touring and sport bikes.
I've only ridden one Buell, the Ulysses model. Certaily not thier flagship bike but had a certain appeal. Sounded cool and the riding postion felt comfortable.
A bit twitchy on handling but the steep rake and high center of gravity just be something you have to get used to.
I don't know. I don't hate them but really don't see many around town or hear anyone saying "Oh man, I can't wait to see the 2010 Buell lineup!"
There will ALWAYS be alot of Harleys parked in the Longshormans Union lot, Boeing machinist Union lot and of course on the Microsoft campus. Yes, yuppies ride Harleys too.
As long as we lose our hair, get old and still make money Harleys will have a customer.

Cool, maybe I'll be able to pick up a Harley dirt cheap next year, huh? :-D Perhaps, but why would you want one? Harley is not a status symbol anymore. It is now fully and completely a symbol of debt. Not only that, but the build quality is still lower than that of most European and Japanese machines. They say Harley's build quality is equal, but it's a lot like saying that Ford Taurus cars are equal in quality to Japanese cars (which was actually claimed by Ford in the 80's and 90's over and over, with straight faces). I want a bobbed '50s H-D...or while I'm dreaming make it a mid 50s Indian.

the only buell to use rotax was the Blast- Which was completely scrapped from the line-up the year. The blast was a Small entry level bike. I think a 500 or 600 single. Buell would something more inovative than that from Rotax. What about something from the Polaris folks?

ôIÆm pleased that Harley-Davidson is assisting Erik in establishing this business to continue supporting the racing efforts he has had so much passion for over the years,ö said Buell President and COO Jon Flickinger. ôHarley-Davidson and the Buell Motorcycle Company will always be proud of their affiliation with Erik, and we wish him well in this new endeavor to support Buell racers.ö Jon Flickinger should be wondering when H-D will shut down the Buell Div. and how long he'll have a job at H-D. Frank
