I just replaced the headliner in my 1993 Cherokee a few weeks ago. The headliner board was made of compressed fiberglass covered with plastic film. You have to remove the entire headliner and then carefully remove the fabric covering then clean the headliner board with a stiff brush to get the olt foam off of it and then you glue a new headliner fabric cover to it. You can purchase complete kits for less than $100.00. The complete job took me about 5 or 6 hours.
