I haven't done any research on fluids yet, but I've had excellent luck with Amsoil Racing Synthetic and Royal Purple in race cars in the past (Volvo/Toyota automatic transmissions - AW71 and AW55). Unless my research suggests there's a good reason not to use those, I plan to use one of those fluids in my next Montero.
