That'll do it. I dropped the heads and manifolds off with the machinist, and when I picked it all up, it was good to go. Of course, there was the matter of a fair amount of money changing hands...

Hopefully all goes well. If not, What would you, or anyone else for that matter, say to a 2007 Jeep Commander With a 3.7 and 22,000 mi. for $18,000 to replace Montero?

I'm not a fan of them, but to each his own. I personally think they're too bulky for the trail and not built as capable or stout as the Montero. BUT, I have no first hand experience with them other than scoping them on the lot, so I could be accused of talking out of my a$$...

On thing, though, is that $18k is ABSOLUTELY a lot more than you'll spend on the Montero repair.

Nope. Not enough... DON'T BUY IT! You could completely overhaul your Mitsu for half that, and have it last longer.

New head gasket. Back together. All seems well. Will be driving it to Norfolk, VA from Franklin, IN for Thanksgiving. If it survives that I'll consider it fixed.

Did you drain and fill the tranny? What attention has been paid to the cooling system? Remember, heat = death...

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...
