The forged unit should have a lot head room for strenght and can easily be hardened. If the blocks mains check out and it passes a magnaflux , its probably OK... But that had to be hard on it. All depends on how hard it is to get another good core.

seen it but not on a non-turbo motor.

i wiped the mains on mine (cast crank) pushing a butt dyno guess of 450ish AWHP.
