Nice looking 'Runner. I've found transmissions as low as $100, but beware - many will have the same problem 'your' truck has. Check the input shaft for excess play and if ya use a junkyard, make sure they will swap it out if they give you a POS.

I wouldn't worry a bit about it sitting. Drain gas, fill w/Seafoam, etc added, replace cap & rotor and maybe drive it home! (chances are it won't stay in 5th gear)
