yes I read that. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> The spring guy wants the curve measurement so he knows how much arch to put in it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

You have a 2.6, go outside! Don't forget a tape measure and a piece of string! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

WOw, you aren't listening. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mrt.gif" alt="" /> Stop the jibber jabber. I don't care what the spring length is. I need the spring arch measurement. There was no listing for the Raider/Montero application, so he didn't know how much arch to put in them. Two inches' 4" 10", he could bend them in i friggin horseshoe he said. I need the spring arch measurement, not the eye-to-eye measurement. BTW, why get used spring from something, especially something older than your truck, to put in there without getting them re-arched? Putting older springs in there , isn't that just an invitation to sagging and different heights in the back?

tie the string eye-to-eye then measure from the middle of the string down to the spring...only a few inches

tie the string eye-to-eye then measure from the middle of the string down to the spring...only a few inches I think MudRaider is trying to find the factory arch measurements. Since his springs have lost their arch, measuring them will not be useful. Someone on here must know <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Someone on here must know <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> I can check mine tonight but they are on the truck and under load, so they would probably measure flatter than brand new springs. I posted up my measurements for the OP since he asked what other springs are similar or close to stock. Z

I found this info in the manual that is posted in the Adobe format. I found these specs but don't quite understand what they mean. Is the "camber unladen" specification here the arch listing that I'm looking for? I'll have to type it out, can't figure out how to cut and paste off an Adobe sheet. Suspension System Asymmetrical semielliptical leaf springs Leaf Springs 4 straight span mm (in) 1196.5-1,203.5 (47.106-47.382) Camber (unladen) mm(in) 72.5-83.5 9(2.854-3.287) Spring Constant N/mm (lbs/in) -as installed at load of 1,000-2,500N (220-551lbs) 24(134) at load of 5,500-8,500N (1,213-1,874lbs) 56(314)
I'm going to ask the spring man what he thinks, and hopefully that will be what I need. I put the Summit Shackles on, and it basically levelled my Raider out.

"straight span mm (in) 1196.5-1,203.5 (47.106-47.382)"
is the distance eye to eye (string method mentioned earlier) of a stock new spring. You want the measurement from that string down to the center pin of your spring pack. I can check to see if my mounted spring dimensions (eye to eye) are the same as the straight span, and then I can measure to the center pin. But if I had to guess I think my measurement would be a little off since the springs are still on the truck and under tension.
If you had one of yours off the truck you could see how far off it is compared to the straight span measurement.
